Honda cars - Efficient and durable transportation tools. Reverse snobbery potential.

Seiko watches - Like a Honda, great value / price relationship.

Lacoste polos - Back when I was in college, the alligator was a symbol of style and quality. I still like them.

RL Polo polos - Same as Lacoste.

J Crew chinos - The fit works for me.

My favorite sport coat is a houndstooth Izod. It gets more frequent wear than my better brands.

The Lacoste symbol is a crocodile, not an alligator. Pls do not compare to the Ralph Lipschitz polopony....

Lacostes were my "first step" into dressing in a somewhat tasteful manner, from t-shirts and cargo shorts in high school. And I still love them.

Also, I like Vineyard Vines. I don't consider their products to be inferior, per se; but they are certainly not "SF approved."

Of course not. Look at the title of the thread and note the quotation marks around the word inferior. Most SF'ers would opine that Mercedes Benz and BMW are superior to Honda. I do not agree.

For that matter, there is nothing inferior about Seiko. I have owned one Tag Heuer and several Seikos. I can give specific reasons why I consider Seiko to be superior.

The crocodilia are only about an inch long on mine so I couldn't clearly see whether the teeth are visible when the mouth is closed. Can't we just get along?

Women - can't say they are "inferior", just can't live with them, and can't live without them.
