1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

+1. Jesus christ. And here I was going to complain about how much pain I was in. You poor bastard. I hope to hell you'll consider fostering another child. We need more good people taking care of unwanted kids.

Edit - never mind. It was a typo. I meant to type "you". Please fix your quote so as I don't appear rude.

Oh, wow - I am so sorry, and I do not envy you at all for the rough times ahead of you and your wife. Condolences, and I hope that you consider fostering again.

I just read that he came to you at 12. You must have put a hell of a lot of work into this boy to get him onto the straight-and-narrow, or even close to it. Our son came to us at 9, he's 12 now - and even now we have our battles and frustrations.

very sorry bentley. hopefully your family will pull together and help each other through this.....as an aside, all of you foster parents are SAINTS!

what's making me sad is our 10.5 year old spaniel mix. he was diagnosed with bone cancer in his hip last spring, and he's been doing well. until the past two weeks. he was given about 2months to live, 5 months ago, so we're over the moon happy about the time we've had, but i fear the end is nearing

More than all the statistics given by the newspapers , that picture alone is making me realize how lucky I'm because my kids are safe upstairs sleeping in their beds...

    God bless their souls.

got to talk to somebody whose family lives in the wealthy part of the city. the night the storm hit, it took just a couple of hours for their cars to completely submerge in water, and just an hour for the whole first level of their house to follow suit. his mom and siblings had to stay on the roof, and they spent the night using whatever they can as ropes to throw lines to the other houses hoping to catch people being dragged by the flood current. scary shit.
