1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

This is quite true, although my one and only training ride featured a few days of numbnutz and I thought - oh, never again. NEVER.

The grant I submitted a couple months ago just got approved, so I gets salary and supply funding for 15 months. Wooooooooo. Lots of fun toys await.

Are we talking thousands or millions of dollars in grant money? Regardless, congrats!

Most of the big ticket items were purchased last year, probably two million total. This one is smaller. I don't know what our overhead ratio is to figure out the final tally, the accounting people deal with that crap. We have all the fun toys, I'm like a kid in a candy shop. Or a nerd in a really expensive technology store. Either way.

    Lasers, mostly.

Lately, levity has been in short supply in the Thomas manor, but this morning the young man looked in the mirror and decided he had to do something. When we departed for school he wore a hairstyle that I'd not seen in a while. It was the kind of hair you'd see on a 55-year-old truck driver named Earl with a pack of smokes rolled in his shirt sleeve.

Mind you, we dress our son in chinos and collared shirts, and he's 12, so the effect was a bit jarring, and hilarious. It was all I could do to stifle a chuckle for the 30 minute ride in the car.

Also: I finally got started on Right Ho, Jeeves!
