+1. On a forum full of effeminate men who are one step away from becoming transvestites, its really not that much of a shocker.

I love rugby , the sport itself and the fan..

I love football , the game but I hate football supporters ...

I love most sports but can't talk about them for hours if a more interesting subject can be spoken about.

meh. yeah we are a bunch of nancy boys talking about clothes, but still, i am surprised there isnt more sports interest. not sure why now that i think about it, but i guess from childhood i associate sports and coolness. so when the people here that i think are cool turn out to be uninterested in sports it surprises me. doent make me change my opinion of them, but it does surprise me.

Well, I follow a team or a sport for a variety of reasons, but I gave up the sports junkie thing a long time ago. Part of it is a degree of disgust with professional sports in general and the greed / gouging that you see at professional sporting events.

So, I generally support college and high school sports: we had season tickets to the UH home football games (that was a trip, BTW), and are catching the basketball team sporadically this season with Joe Young working his way into the starting lineup (his dad played with Olajuwon and Drexler and he signed a roster card for my son).

Another aspect to me re: following a sport is participation: when I'm playing basketball, I'm more likely to watch it. When my son is playing soccer, we're likely to find the Euro league games and watch.

im not sure why im posting this here, but here goes.

i was/am watching jackass 3 at work, and i just had some serious dry heaving watching one of the scenes. thankfully no customers were in the store. also i just had lunch less than an hour ago, i have no idea why nothing came up. i was full out retching. so i guess i am happy that i didnt vomit all over the floor at work.

Didn't you mean to post this about 7 hours ago?

the 26th work is closed... the 30th too. I put in for the 27-28th off it was approved. So a week off without burning a full week of PTO. Oh, and the 23rd is a half day, the 22nd essentially so with an office lunch. Eff yeah.

Its not that I don't like sports...I just have trouble being interested in pro sports. The bullshit surrounding it doesn't help, but it is mostly that I simply don't care about a bunch of people paid to play games much in the same way that I don't really care about the lives of a bunch of people paid to be famous.

I'll watch big events like the super bowl or parts of the tour de france or world cup games and if someone wanted to go to a game with me I would be consider it...but I would much rather go out side for a couple hours and throw a ball around than to watch a bunch of dudes do it on TV.
Sure some of those big events are pretty epic and it is always fun to see people who are *really* good at something doing what they do best....but to follow it weekly and keep track of innocuous information about the individual athletes would just drive me crazy.
