I used to but my attention span is next to nil since I had the twins...

I only watch one hour program since as CSI and documentaries...

Can't sit for two hours watching a movie unless it is very very good.

You are a much nicer guy than me. I just stare at them like the I'm-cooler-than-you-for-not-knowing hipster that I am.

It's not to be nice, just so they feel I fit in and help to advance my career.

    This.

I do follow local sports but it's mostly yahoo recaps the morning after. I don't watch TV, only catch the (very) occasional movie, not sure what's on the radio these days.

I will make you a playlist so you can at least appear semi-knowledgeable about what the under-25 crowd listen to.

Is Katy Perry part of the playlist? I like Katy Perry. Well, okay, I like her books. And she's got purty eyes, too.

Oui. So is Rihanna. Lots of Rihanna. Some GaGa. Some Nicki. I'll pretty much narrow it down to the essentials (I.E. those with actual talent).

Yeah...I try just to be nice even though I really don't care. I'm not even that interested in pro sports in the sports I actually participate in...could really care less about sports I don't even enjoy playing. But often when interacting with someone more senior at work who I don't know it goes something like this after they have found out who I am and/or where I went to school:
"So where are you originally from?"
    "Minnesota"
"So you're a vikings fan then? how do you feel about Brett Favre" etc.
I've learned to just go with "Yeah, I am--but I hate his filthy cheeshead guts"

Maybe Thomas's yahoo sports updates already do this...but there is probably a business in providing "Conversational sports for people who don't give a fuck"
Give me a quick no-nonsense summary designed for people who don't really care that I can read on my smart phone on the train in the morning--maybe throw in a 30 second video of there is some unbelieveable play (because even if you don't like sports, those can be cool) and give some quick talking points on the game. Throw in tidbits designed for people who don't care and thus wouldn't know things like "this is important because X is a big rival of Y and player Z is known to be kind of a douche"

I am on thin ice with so many conversations at work about work that this one more thing to try and BS is just too much. It is where I throw in the towel and don't even try. Also, I actually think my job/industry is interesting where sports I am like ugh.

it does not cease to amaze me how many people here do not care for sports at all.

+1000. I'm often surprised by how few guys post in the sports threads.
