Yeah, because you weren't the one being jabbed this time.
There is a crazy fire sale at an online clothing store now (The Corner) and this is the first time I haven't impulse bought a bunch of worthless crap, proud of my self restraint. Also, I bought a bunch of personal gifts today and I can't wait for Xmas this year!

I love this photo because his face is like, shit I got myself here, now what the fuck do I do?
And then he finds the answer.

That's why I love cats...
No walkies and they normally shit in other people gardens.
I'm actually dumbfounded right now.
I called AT&T over a huge bill I had that I did actually incur but wanted to see what they could do for me, and not only did I not have to wait on hold, the guy was really helpful and I got $150 knocked off my bill.
I got a $300 check and three months of free service for my gf once by yelling at them on the phone over a mistake of about $100. They have pretty awesome customer service.
I am going to see O'Mast tonight.
Boraxo is awesome stuff.
Work is kind of hellish now because of a few high-level conflicts, major business issues, and key strategic decisions; some long-term, high-level people are going to have to go and that's been sort of weighing on me. I've had some building anxiety and self-doubt and even a touch of depression about these issues.
But today, within one of our companies, the one I've been running for about 8 years now, we hit a major monthly sales milestone for just the second time ever. And in another few days, we'll eclipse our all-time sales peak, set in 2008, so most of December's sales will be icing. And due to some work we did during the "down" years (off 6-8%) in '09 and '10, our margins will be markedly improved over 2008. So I will get to enjoy December as a month that is pretty much gravy and has things rolling in better than they ever have.
In spite of all the other BS swirling around, it's nice to enjoy this year as a big victory, and makes me feel better about myself as a manager of this company to know that its greatest successes have come under my leadership. A welcome confidence booster as we move into what is sure to be a turbulent 2012.
Weary is the head that wears the crown
We just returned from a great family trip to the Mendocino/Ft. Bragg area for the long Thanksgiving weekend. It was a great opportunity to recharge and reflect on what went well and not so well over the last year in our practice. Plus the time I spent with my wife and kids was priceless.
very fucking cool, my friend
