I've actually managed to maintain my weight for the past month or so (59 kgs) which is more than I can say for you I'm sure.

You're right. I've lost kilos. Also, 59kgs isn't too healthy for someone who is 150cm.

Actually most longevity studies demonstrate the opposite. Underweight people have shorter lifespans than anybody but the morbidly obese. Slightly overweight people actually live the longest (who knew).

I would be interested to see those studies. Not that I doubt them, but I wonder how much that would be affected by things like extreme poverty, drug use, and other things that are would cause both low body weight and early death, but not necessarily for the same reasons. Of course good studies would control for that but there are a lot of crap studies out there.

I think the key here is "slightly" overweight. I am willing to bet that we are talking people who are 10 or so pounds over their ideal weight. That's not going to effect your lifespan by much.

300 pounds. get it right jerk.

I remember in HS we were filling out our graduation stuff and we had to put height and weight down for our robes. This dude who was in my graduating class was 5'5 (IIRC, it was something short) and 475. I felt sad for him.
