Good stuff guys. Congrats to all.

I had a great weekend. Friday night was awesome...Saturday was awesome. Sunday was...wait for it...awesome.

Have you never applied for a job before? Each interview that you get is another step closer to getting the job. I doubt anybody actually enjoys the interview itself, but just having the opportunity is a good thing. I'm excited about the job, so I'm happy about getting the interviews.

+1 sixteenbazillion. many positions to be filled have a process to the hiring. resume selection, first interview, second....every step means you beat out some other candidates and are that much closer to getting the job.

so yes, when you get a call for a personal interview after submitting an application, it is a very happy feeling. :)

The last job I had was the most ridiculous "interview" process. I got an email forwarded to me, saying they were looking for people. I responded, got an email back saying "Please come out and interview. Oh, and send in your resume too." The interview was like an hour long and it was obvious she was reading some script questions because she had to. Ended the interview and took me on a tour of the building and "introduced me to my new co-workers", in her words.

After I left, I recommended someone else for the job, and her "interview" process was even less rigorous. It was basically "come interview so we know you're not a dog rapist and we'll go ahead and hire you otherwise."

So...this whole rigorous application process is quite something by comparison. It'd be about double the money of my old position woo.

Has to be hard to find a professional position for eating onion rings and sipping Jack and coke.

I've doing a pretty decent job saving up money recently. Other than a minor lapse this last weekend, I've been fairly frugal and paying down debt pretty aggressively.

Also, my credit rating, despite my still hefty student loans, is quite good; I'm very happy with that.

Been doing crossfit workouts for the last week. My energy has been way up and I feel better overall. Constantly sore, but in a good way. Now I look forward to hitting the gym after work. I'm like 80% to getting my Kipping pull up technique down; need to work on a more explosive transfer.

Had a crapload of vacation time my boss wouldn't met me carry over, so I now have every Friday off until the new year and the entire holiday week off.
