I had a great couple of work weeks - we had some VIPs visit the factory last week from two places, and both visits achieved what I wanted them to. these visits are pretty eleborate and choreographed affairs with maybe a dozen people from my company involved. one involved a trip by stretch limo for almost 5 hours, and taking 10 people to a pro-hockey game. this week I ran a sales conference that had more than 50 people in attendance from 20 or so countries, that had about 30 seperate lectures and several meals out at nice resteraunts. everything went perfectly. most of the people in my company thought that this would fuck up, the plan seemed very alien, and they didn't understand what I was trying to achieve. everyone of the doubters came to me afterward and told me how impressed they were. right afterward, my counterpart who is in charge of the domestic market had a similar meeting that he planned and ran. his was much, much weaker. so much so that a few of the people who attended both asked what they had to do to get on my team. it was a great week.
