went to the gems of beaches at Breezy Tip and Fort Tilden yesterday. they are only really accessible if you have a car and/or bike.
they are actually pretty much scaled down versions of sand dune-d cape cod beaches only actually still in the NYC metro area (right off brooklyn/queens) about 30min drive from williamsburg.
there's tons of sand dunes that have paths that lead to.... nowhere... watch out of couples having sex (mostly gay dudes though).
the beaches were shockingly pristine and clean... and empty.... this was on a 84ºF Saturday afternoon (yesterday). These beaches are actually nude friendly. I was happy to notice some very attractive topless females (rare for "nude friendly" places). At one point my wife and I were in the middle of nowhere and said "well its all gay guys here..." she proceeded to take off her bikini top and dive into the water.
its very very bike friendly. even the main roads have dedicated bike lanes. there's all these paths that transverse through the sand dunes right from the parking lot.
the area was formerly a military base, and the parking lot was the take off/landing strips its just this massive flat land (perfect for checking your 0-60mph car times).
I was afraid to visit throughout the summer because rumor has it... the beaches have been overrun by gays cruising for sex, and the dreaded hipsters...but even if party true... there's so much open space and free and super duper clean beach that its not really a bother... plus I actually saw some really attractive women topless and lounging/swimming/going about (the wife included).
its best to rent/bring a car and drive down and bring a bike/food/water. everything is only within 2-3miles you can just park at the Jacob Riis Park (its actually free) and then bike to the sand dunes (bring a bike lock there's actually bike racks provided at the dunes).
Traces of coke maybe?
old man nose hair actually.
I think your right, I tried to talk to her and the conversation was awkward. O well, you win some you lose some.
so my wife's uncle passed away last week. he's like almost 100 y.o. and for the past few years been bedridden and quite frankly everyone in his immediate family's just waiting for him to pass away. I also guess when you do reach that age there's not much sadness with your loss. so anyway the guy's burial was sunday and following traditions the whole thing would take the whole morning and then the family will be hosting a lunch that will last until past noontime. and my wife saw it fit that I need not attend the shebang and she'll just go with her siblings. so I spent sunday morning enjoying my time on earth riding a bike up and down some mountains and drank beer after. and that made me happy.
Got this in the mail at work. One of the like, three or seven best investments I've ever made.

p.s. by ugly I don't mean her repulsive head I mean her repugnant mouth. She should be banned for life.
She is an insult to every poster depicting tennis in every Seventies teenage bedrooms..

earlier in the year negotiated my comp plan with my boss, but never got a copy in writing. for what ever reason, I was thinking that the growth rate I needed to hit my bonus was 25% over last year, but I was thinking of a specific number. a few weeks ago, I did the math again, and saw that I was off on the number by 500K, and had to scrounge up another 500K, which was a little stressful. today, my boss forwarded me a copy of the plan, and I see that my bonus was based on 20% growth, which meant that I no longer need that 500K, and so I am good to go, not a bad feeling.
