I had a really nice day in DC with my wife and son. went in to receive a government award, and they did a great job of it, then took my son to our local congresswoman's office, hit American History and Air and Space, had some gelato and came home. all in all a good day.

    awesome, congratulations!

had a great fucking lunch from this hole in the wall southern food place. Can only get here when I don't have to work. <3 vacay.

got a new bonsai. Well its not finished but I am excited.

Our neighbor had a bonsai right off his driveway, one morning I was running by and saw it was missing. I think he transplanted it into his backyard - the last time the neighbor kids papered his house, they carefully hung dental floss over his bonsai. fucking kids.

    ....

Making me happy but also filled with trepidation: I put in my early entry for the Chevron Marathon: I ran a qualifying time for early guaranteed registration (pending verification), but I also suspect I might have bit off more than I can reasonably chew.

Zach, you seem to always do these great things with your kids. Pretty cool thing for a dad to do. :Fonz:

Found birthday present for the gf. We'll do a day trip to Milano on a Saturday and she can choose something from a shop there. Hope she'll enjoy it as she's never been to Italy before.

I screwed up really big at work. But in the past, I've always been very quick to own up to any little mistakes and very conscientious about fixing them. Paid off. Co-workers rallied around, did damage control, and I'm taking a few out to lunch today. Still wish I hadn't screwed the pooch, but it went so much better than I could've hoped. I'm very happy at the ties I've cultivated.

A project that's been two years in the making is finally getting wrapped up. Very relieved. The future is so bright I need shades.
