My vote for most underrated band would be The Counting Crows. For some reason one of their worst songs was what most people remember.
Add Third Eye Blind for bonus Bay Area underratedness.

Big Moe, Swisha House and DJ Screw with the S.U.C. were all underrated.

I've always been a huge live music fan probably seen almost every major act that played the SF Bay Area from the late 60s through the late 70s . Catching Springsteen at this show in 1973 with no prior knowledge of him whatsoever was a high spot. Saw him a couple of times since but this was the best.
There was the time I was living in Fort Worth and a friend took me to a small bar to see a power trio who later became known as ZZ Top

What I remember about them is the singer was a fat, stinky looking pig with dirty dred hair, and he pillowed every hot star in Hollywood...
Kudos.

Of course there's the video of the tribute to Harrison...and now both Petty and Prince are lost to us. :(

Prince brought down the fucking house with his solo. And dat Telecaster of his. 😍

Spirit of Eden by Talk Talk is probably the most underrated 80's album. Not a fan of their early stuff.

As far are more 80's stuff... Metallica, AC DC, Siouxsie Banshees, Dire Straits, Prince, Megadeth, David Bowie, 2 Live Crew, Too Short, NWA, and Van Halen. Honestly, the 80's wasn't my favorite decade of music. I mostly listen to late 60's, and 70's music. That English prog is on another level.
