Wait for it
Back in my old hood. The hipsterization/gentrification continues.
A bodega is now a shuffleboard bar. There's a ramen place going in. A butcher shop has opened. A thrift store has closed.
Another bodega and a buy-here-pay-here car lot were bought by a charter school to be turned into squash courts. (Apparently there are lots of college squash scholarships that go unused, so they are banking on this paying off for the students in the long run. Sounds kind of crazy, but what do I know.)
And finally the $300k+ tax abated townhomes down the block from me are flying up.
The prostitutes are still here, though, and that's all that matters.
Silicon Valley was fruit orchards as far as the eye could see when I got there

right now, vodka. I am at friend's place.
and now, the fact that I am going to watch my favorite movie now. JW2
Just got approved for a business trip to Australia. Best part is I had to build a case for the trip and my reasoning was accepted. I'm certain that if I simply relied on managers to make the call themselves, it never would've happened.
Great way to start the long weekend.
