1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

When you get east side, hit me up for the places to shop and get ramen. Or if on my turf, some drinks, Michelin level snacks, and some live entertainment.

So making me happy at the end of 2016:

    1) Kept up cardio and weights all year and seeing some definite increase in muscle (others comment so I know I'm not fooling myself)
    2) House is really in the zone with the completion of the yard project and the projects from prior years.
    3) Work is presenting a challenging environment to operate in but we're doing fine overall and have expanded our service footprint substantially.
    4) Personal finances could not be better.
    5) All my health monitoring indicates I likely have many active years left.
    6) Holidays have been great and are finishing off with party at my place tonight then NYE bash tomorrow.
    7) Married life continues to be fantastic.

Hope everyone else has a similar list of things making them happy and that everyone's 2017 is awesome.

Three hours Canberra to Sydney. Then a couple of hours at Clovelly Beach 26C water temp 19C served with a divine cornucopia of female flesh.

The only issue I have with weights and cardio is that my shoulders have bulked up and a MTM sports coat I acquired in January is now a much tighter fit.

Currently sitting on the balcony with a large Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin and Tonic contemplating the coming NYE in Sydney for time in donkeys ages.

2 thing making me happy this year (in no particular order):

    - my indoor kitties are flea-free thank god. i'm fastidious and that shit had me up a tree.

    - i finally figured out the secret phrase to bang this magic lady i've been chasing. so so sweet.

hope everybody has a great year and also: peace!

I have neve flown on anything except coach in my life. I recently purchased "premium economy" seats. Are these significantly better?

Betimes I will make a purchase at an establishment and I imagine (in my mente) the "revenue" line on the business' income statement going up by the amount of my purchase and flowing down to net income (no marginal operating costs for my purchase). Then I imagine the net income line on the cash flow statement increasing by that amount flowing down to "cash flow from operations". Is that nerdy?

Party was awesome last night. Everyone raved about the backyard and it felt really good. House is already clean again and the last load of dishes is in the washer now.

Not going to lie, 2016 was mostly shitty. Lost a lot of family members, especially on my wife's side. It's been really tough since we've been living apart.

The positive is that it feels like we can finally move forward. Finally got dat full-time job with benefits.

    • Wife's moving in May. (We need to work on getting her established down here.) We're finally (hopefully) going to have a house with a yard and some actual space.
    • Finally got back into the gym consistently. It's a lot easier when I'm not traveling every week.
    • Barring a major emergency, CC debt (which I've been bouncing around 0% cards for the past 2 years) will be gone by May.
    • (Hopefully) done forever with my shitty health insurer. One of the worst experiences of my life.
    • Looking forward to actually taking a vacation without the lingering guilt of a broke-ass freelancer.
    • And since this is SF, my wardrobe is finally to the point where I like almost everything in my closet.

I was living the life of a grad student for the past 10 years. Glad that phase is finally over.

@vanveen. Know the feels. Glad for you. Living apart for work is tough. Keep on keeping on.

I love when I walk by the one gym by where I work and there's some dickhead outside marketing, "excuse me sir, where do you currently work out?" and I laugh a deep belly laugh.

Not making me happy is I've not worked out for three days and I feel like a bloated hippo. I'm considering going two weeks completely dry starting 1/2. That's kind of rash so we'll see how it goes.

Yeah, last weekend I let myself go. I don't think I have gained anything significant, but I feel disgusting still.

Nope. But essentially living like that. Changed careers and it took me a while to get established in the new one.

I was in school full-time for 5 of those 10 years, though.
