1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

A lucrative profession in a growth industry. Well done.

The only growth JrBrah sees in that industry is when he meets with clients and they get excited to see him.

Yeah, I don't think that "pastor" thought through his cunning plan.

This really burns me. The baker is so lucky Whole Foods went after this. The easy thing to do would just have been to fire him. The pastor would not have cared if he got someone fired either so long as he was able to wallow in victimhood. The only kind of men who would do this are gay men. I bet the pastor went home that night and fake cried while calling all of his friends while grinning wildly in between the calls.

Having been an enployment litigator in the past I can assure you straight men are equally capable of manipulative, manufactured victimhood.

My brother is just starting to learn French, of which he is doing for job reasons. He is hell of frustrated and he is asking me for help, which I am able to provide. It is not often I am able to be helpful to my brother.

What's the longest piece of literature you have translated?

It's only literature in the very broad sense of the term that I ever translate. I typically translate philosophy texts, which are often in the form of 25 page articles or so. I think the longest thing I've translated from French is probably about 70 pages. Although it looks likely that I'll be undertaking a translation of a 200-some page book soon.

I can't speak as to how it is with other languages, but when I was a missionary in Japan we used to laugh at the translations of common hymns into Japanese. Usually by the end of the verse you had maybe gotten through the first line of the English version. They didn't seem to translate very well at all.
