1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I've never had gold before and don't even know what it does.

If you want three free months of gold, simply download the official Reddit app and sign in. That's how I got mine.

    Ha... ha.... ha. :(

It really is a terrible show.

    This man gets it.

Well, at least your legislature didn't make the state an embarrassment and have two of the world's biggest organizations say they don't want to be based in a state where we pass laws like the ones we did.

Flying to Key West this afternoon for my GF's birthday. Then driving back through Miami on Monday to spend the night in Fort Lauderdale before flying back.

Anybody have any suggestions? GF flew out yesterday, but we don't have much actually planned.

Birthday dinner suggestion somewhere around Miami or Fort Lauderdale? @HRoi?

Joes for crabs in Miami (it is not the chain Joe's Crab Shack). Good cuban food where you can (so, basically, anywhere). I prefer media noches to Cubanos. I remember the airport used to have a decent restaurant La Carreta but it was not there during my 30-second map scan two weeks ago.

I am the kind of man what worries betimes about certain tasks of which parts of them are out of my control. I try to tell myself that I don't need to worry often things I can't control work themselves out just fine to where I have no problem. This happened twice today already. First, there was an event I've been planning that depends on other people doing what they needed to do. Turns out they did what they needed to do. Second, there's a cat at the shelter who was named after me. It was scheduled to be euthanized on Tuesday. I said I would take him if no one else wanted him. So far no one has shown interest. But the person who runs the shelter has decided to give the cat until Friday. She was willing to do that because she knew that if worse came to worst I would take the cat.

"Hey, we named this cat after you!"

"Oh, wow, what an honor! Thank you!"

"Yeah, we're going to kill him on Friday."

The plan has always been for two, which is what I have now. I would definitely save my namesake cat if it came to that, but then I would certainly not adopt any more after that.

Also, the people who do the hard work of trying to get the animals adopted are not the same people who decide when the animals get euthanized. IME, the former group of people fight hard to push back the euthanization date as far as they can, but the decision is not ultimately theirs. It's the former group of people who named the kitty after me.

This is sort of like when dat Thai hooker shows up on your doorstep a few years later with a kid she has named after you, demanding that you pay back child support for "your" child.

"We named this cute kitty after you! You can't let him die! You just can't!"

Close to FLL airport? Blue Moon, Truluck's, Pier 66 (edit: GRILL 66) used to be great but I haven't gone there in at least 5 years, Chima is a really good Brazilian rodizio, Casa D'Angelo for Italian.

There's a lot of good stuff in Miami but I don't know if you want to drive 3 hours to Key West, stop in Miami for dinner, then drive another hour or so to Fort Lauderdale and crash. But i can think of some stuff in Miami if needed

Also, in Key West have dessert at Better Than Sex
