1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Yesterday I was sitting in a cave at Petra recovering from walking up a mountain staircase. Along comes a super cute cat and she lays in my lap. It was pretty great.

Same sort of thing happened to me two years ago Xmas at a very rustic wine tasting room in California. This cat walked in the tasting room where I was leaning on the bar. It took one look at me, jumped up on the bar, and curled up to go immediately to sleep on my arm. The added bonus was it completely ignored the only other patrons in the place, a frat-bro and CA blonde, and the blonde was super bummed out the cat did this to me and would not respond to her attempts to call it over.

They are? I always thought they were remarkably easy to clean--just remove the non-stick pot and wash it, wipe off the inner lid, and you're good to go. Now, I haven't used a rice cooker on a daily basis since I lived in Japan from '89-'91, so perhaps my standards of cleanliness have risen somewhat.

Yeah rice cookers are easy to clean cause they're nonstick.

Cooking rice in a pot is a bitch to clean because the rice overcooks at the bottom and can cling to the surface.

Depends on the flame setting. You can set it low and leave it for 45+ minutes. At that level your bottom will still be fluffy (in b4 joaks).

Medium low, which is what I use, causes it to stick at the bottom a little. It cooks faster and you get the crunchy rice at the bottom, which I like. Makes it a bitch to clean though.

No, his employer also has general overhead, incremental employee health, disability, life, etc. insurance and what not, plus Chobanis and toilet paper to pay for before anything drops to the bottom line.
