1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

In-laws were in town on Saturday (by in town I mean Jersey City where my sister in law lives). Rented a car so we could surprise them by bringing the dog along. Had a blast all day even if it meant missing the hockey game.

the day ended with a midnight car drive back to Brooklyn where the dog, thanks to a slight change of diet that day, kept on drowning us with farts. It was raining out too so we couldn't open the windows.

he's more of a cat with the shady personality, odd rituals, the general aura of "I think that look he's shooting me is a sign that he wants to kill me", and the knowledge that if you die in front of him, he might get hungry and eat you.

Going to Braves game Thursday. Going white water rafting, mountain biking and paintballing this weekend. Should be fun.

This sounds like a great weekend.

Where are you going rafting? I want to do a trip this summer, and, given the way my travel plans are aligning, I think that's going to be easier to swing if I stay in state.

I was totally hoping he'd say the Chattahoochee through Columbus. I really want to do that run.

I actually won't be in Georgia, or even the South, most of the weekend, but I'm sure Ed would love to have an impromptu meet-up with BP.

Paintballing is NOT fun, to me. Freaking welts on the side of my trunk that looked like red and blue, then green and yellow, impact craters.

    Trunk? Are you an elephant?

And if you are, shouldn't your username be TUSKS?

    Y'alls must bruise easy.
I've been paintballing many times, usually wearing jeans and a hoody, and I think I only once got a welt, from being hit on the bare hand.

Honestly though, it always sounds way more fun than it actually is. The lack of accuracy, and the ability to just spam paint ($$) mean you can't really pull of sick, well aimed shots...and running while exposed to fire will just get you killed.

If I ever go play again, I think I'd rather buy a bunch of pump-action guns and go play some scenario based games in the woods somewhere with tactically minded people. Capture the flag or point-defense style things with respawn. Pump actions with small ammo capacity force you to get close enough to make accurate shots unlike the guy who can unload a hopper in 15 seconds with a semi-auto marker with a double trigger.
