1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I, in no way would have ever expected you to be a tattoo guy.

Can you tell us what you're getting or is it a secret?

I'm getting two, one to celebrate my heritage (across my chest)...

...and this one on my leg so you can see it when I wear shorts.

That doesn't surprise me. I don't think I'd qualify as a tattoo guy. I don't/won't have many, but there is a small handful of things I'd like.

I have KISS tattoos but you wouldn't know they're KISS tattoos unless you really knew what's what about the band.

As an internet buddy of sound judgment I feel obligated to advise you against getting a symbol of racism and insurrection tattooed on your chest.

Alternatively, this might make a nice compliment to it!

Tried to go to this cool experimental culture center/cafe/bar and underground club we found during the day in Tallinn... But it was totally dead. Zero guests besides us. Had a beer and take a bit with the people week run it (said it should be good if we come back Friday or Saturday night when the weather is better) but had to bail after that.

We were going to find some little bar or even give up, but we kept seeing groups of young people heading in a direction that didn't make sense. Followed some random people through a fence and down am under construction path... and ended up at a motherfucking concert and rave in an abandoned soviet prison.

And for those of you familiar with the fine film "Eurotrip"... The DJ fricking played " Scotty Doesn't Know" and all of the Europeans did in fact know the words.

The pictures above are absolutely sarcastic, but I am getting a couple more tattoos (and have an appointment with a really excellent artist).

To answer H's question: One will be for my son, but it's absolutely not a portrait. I've long had an idea for a tattoo for each of my kids, but they needed to be big enough to contribute to part of it. He's finally old enough, so I'm going to do that part. When my daughter is old enough, I'll do the same for her. The second is still much more abstract in my mind, so there's not much to tell. I know what part of it will be, and what it represents overall. However, it really needs the input of someone who knows what they're doing, and there's not much to tell about it until that happens.

When I got my mallet and Lewis bag recently, I posted about it on Facebook. One of my friends asked a couple questions about the mallet, and I thought he was just curious. Turns out he's gotten into woodworking as a pretty serious hobby, and he custom made me a mallet that's far, far nicer than what I bought. It was at my door when I got home yesterday, and it was a complete surprise.

He put a lot of time and thought into it, even choosing hardwoods that had a provenance he knew would be meaningful to me.

It was an incredibly thoughtful thing to do, and I'm fortunate to have such good people in my life.

Also, when I got in touch to thank him, we got a ton of mileage out of jokes about hardwood.
