1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Surge isn't really am energy drink... It is just a mountain dew competitor. Might have a bit more caffeine but it is no red bull.

Maybe you are thinking of Amp which was originally sold under the mountain dew banner and was a definite energy drink.

Fwiw, surge went away because mountain dew is better.

When I was a youngster I loved Mello Yello on account of it had that groovy yellow can with the green and orange 70s font. (I am talking about 1979.)

Well, when Surge first came out it was touted as having more caffeine than your average soda. I think that was back when people thought Red Bull was dangerous for kids too.

Was Red Bull even around in the 90's?

It broke onto the scene in the US in '97. Incidentally, the exact same year Surge was released!

I always wanted to like Mello Yello because I really loved the Donovan song by the same name. Sadly, Mello Yello tastes like piss.

    Moxie is where it's at.

    EDIT -

I know it's yet another reason The South > everywhere else.

I also know that, in terms of regional cokes, it's nowhere near the top.

    For the motherfucking win.

My best friend lives in Kentucky and is coming to visit next month. He's bringing me all sorts of swag from the Commonwealth, but. suffice it to say, the Ale-8 is the most important part.

It's really hard to explain. I had to try it to get it.

The best I can do (and Z can correct me if I get it wrong): Think of a good ginger ale. Something like Blenheim that has a nice ginger flavor and isn't ultra sweet the way something crappy like Canada Dry is. Now back down the super-hard bite those types of ginger ales tend to have but keep the good ginger, so you have a real ginger ale that is still sort of light. Then add a splash of citrus. That's Ale-8.

Also, speaking of epic regional cokes:
