"Can't Hardly Wait" and "American Pie" are both tied for Best Teen Comedy, partially because they both include tracks by Blink 182. I would have to put "American Pie" slightly ahead only because the band makes an appearance simultaneously with one of their songs playing in the background. It can be argued, however that "Can't Hardly Wait" should be put ahead because it includes Blink 182's track "Dammit" that launched the band into stardom, and is one of their most recognizable tracks. Furthermore, bassist and singer Mark Hoppus was inspired to write the track, "Going Away to College" while sick in bed watching "Can't Hardly Wait".

Mean Girls, in incredibly important to our times, I do admit.

Pio, clearly those movies don't have tracks by Blink 182 featured in them... Duh...

In the past two or three weeks I've kind of spiraled out of control. I stopped drinking on Friday and have been dry since. Had some fairly bad withdrawal symptoms until this morning...now, I'm just jonesing. Went to an AA meeting last night with a good friend of mine, who has been going for years, and found that a lot of it resonated. I think it's time for me to give it up.

I suppose I'm happy I realized it has gotten out of hand.

    I await Harvey's "You're a pussy" comment.

So your mother raised a quitter? :(

Seriously, if you need to quit, good on you for going to AA.

This, although that doesn't mean Harvey would be wrong. ;)

Random coincidence: lunchtime CLE presentation today was by a professor of political ethics who started his professional career -- and lifelong interest in political corruption -- working as a staffer in the Albany statehouse. So maybe one day you can be Professor Connemara, doing talking-head shows and inviting undergraduates to your "office hours".
