1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

It's a weird feeling having a "head turner" boat. I was there to do a few things like put Mr. Rocket J Squirrel on but spent more time talking to people. Our yard neighbors have been speculating who owned her! Me, baby. Me.

I am being a sillybird today listening to "sleaze rock" (L.A. Guns) and doing the robot (dance does not match musical style).

This is the first one I have read and I am enjoying it so far. Hadn't realized upon starting it that it was not the first book in the series...hopefully it doesn't spoil the earlier novels for me.

I also just finished Borkmann's Point, another swedish crime story (which I didn't like as much as I am enjoying this) and am finding it very odd that both books deal with detectives trying to track down axe-murdering serial killers. Don't they have other murder weapons in Sweden? And both of these books were given to me by my mother at various points (probably found in thrift shops or library sales)...what are the odds that she picks up the only two axe-murder novels from two separate detective series?

Some people need to earn points to get comps and some people get comped just because they are who they are.

I've read several. I'm pretty sure he branches out a bit on murder weapons. I don't think reading them out of order will spoil anything. There are some incidental details that work better if you read them in order -- Wallander's particular place in his career, his relationships with certain colleagues, etc. - but I think the novels are written to work as stand-alones (and with a recognition that people might start at any point in the series).

Never having met your mom, I'm hesitant to comment on the odds of her doing anything in particular. Maybe if it were west's mom . . .

Well, she is both weird alien faced and beautiful. I didn't know it was possible until she pulled it off. Perhaps I need to visit Iceland...

Edit: whoa, has not aged too well!
