Don't bother, you know it will only lead to frustration, failure and ultimately rejection. C'est le vie!

In as many words--that would be an accurate description of what did (or did not, as the case may be), happen.

Duh, dummy, she hit the button for the floor above and came from the tenant-only parking deck.

Ed is such a smalltimer. Cal would have had a picture ready for us to check her out.

I was browsing ebay for vintage doctor bags a couple weeks ago and I came across this thing below. The vague item description and lone photo gave the opinion that the bag was only good for decoration due to flaws that weren't described. But I thought it looked like it had lots of potential if a proper restoration could be done on it, so I bought it for $40. It arrived today and it's all sorts of awesome. The leather is quite dirty and dry, but it's very supple and should be an easy restoration. It's quite bigger than most doctor's bags, so my inclination to use it as a weekender or tool bag should be satisfied. The biggest flaw is one small rip on a corner that I should be able to mend or patch. The hardware is perfectly functional, and the mechanism of the bag's opening is really pristine. I suspect an older lady put the thing on ebay just to get rid of it. It's probably been sitting in a dry basement for 40 years, as there were some cobwebs on the bottom. But all in all, it was a good find and I'm excited about it. :slayer:

I bought a similar one at an antique shop. I keep my shoe polishing stuff in it.

That's a good idea. I'd have to get a much smaller one for that, but there are lots of nice old ones available. This thing is just a tad smaller than a medium Filson duffle.

Yeah, mine is big too, but I have a lot of redundant supplies so it serves well.

I am debating doing this -- let me know what you think about their stuff. My suit hangers are a mess of plastic, wood, and just a general mess.
