Sometimes, when you mumble "tempranillo" at a crowded hotel bar, you end up getting a free caipirinha along with your wine.

seems like a lot of sf'ers had a great holiday and a good start for the year... :slayer:

btw, so I had this employee who some lesion or tumor in her brain area before christmas.... she told me yesterday that her latest mri scan showed the tumor's shrinking, and the specialist I arranged for her to see told her that there's a possibility that if it keeps on shrinking she might not need to get a biopsy. I'm hoping for the best.

That's encouraging news, acid! I hope she continues to improve.

Tonight I did what I almost never do: I partook of an alcoholic beverage (scotch to be more precise) while writing a paper. Maybe thanks to the scotch or maybe not, I finished the paper, and it looks really good. (Of course I'm quite close to it, so it's hard to judge.) When I started writing, I told myself I'd buy myself a new peacoat (wasabi green) to reward myself once I finished. I think I will go ahead and do that.

is there a study on what percentage of great works of literature and art were made whilst the author/artist was under the influence of something?

I don't know if there's a study. I know, for example, that Sartre was hopped up on amphetamines when he wrote his major works.

are you happy about Richard Pryor or are you referencing Richard Pryor in regards to the above? either would be appropriate.

it sort of divides up in a few ways - basic concepts in getting things done, tactics for managing time and email, and really nitty gritty how to get the most out of outlook.

the last one was the one that I got a great deal of practical tips from, but if you can read all 4 and work with them they will really change the way you do things. good luck

The anti-glare filter is a godsend. This makes a huge difference. :slayer:

Last night's meteor shower. The sky was super clear, star field so dense, moon had not risen yet so its light was not messing up viewing, and we saw about 50 in an hour. Got home from a night out, bundled up, put on my trip hop/chill playlist on the backyard speakers, and chilled in some lounge chairs with a big drink while watching the show. One was a particularly good one. Lasted about 10-12 seconds and was a good size and really bright.
