Yeah, I'm pretty sure the deal closure thing is about being the lackey who tags along and makes sure everything lines up between different countries legal structures and such. Buying a company in a different legal system is tricky.

Of course wanting to be that guy is kind of weird.

Honestly have no fucking idea, ( I don't talk to him) but from what I understand, it's pretty much a job like yours he is after, which is why I find him getting a job like that, doubtful at best.

Also he looks and dresses like shit and has the personality like a neuvo rich russian crack addict, so he isn't someone you want to represent your company, in the field.

The Beach and the Yummy Mummies, the twenty something's with barely a stitch of fabric covering their arse and whole menagerie and cornucopia of feminine flesh basking in the summer sun.

Oh and new beer I discovered Longboard Pale Ale very enjoyable after a day full of eye candy:D

The beach and the lovely topless ladies playing racket balls in front of me...

    I'm 20 again..:slayer:

I prefer to erase from my memories the pictures of overweight German middle aged women walking around with their tits on the waist..

Nah, things have already progressed beyond that. Even in my generation at least one graduate degree has become the standard. Why do you think all these late 30/early 40 somethings are wasting their money at U of Phoenix and the like?

interesting, well. good luck to him.

I had a discussion with a guy in Northwestern Business school last year at a party, a proffessor who teaches international business development, and I was struck by how irrelevant what they tought was to what I do on a day to day basis. not that I want to say you can't teach what I do, its just I think that the acedemic world has a very distroted view of what I do. "international deal closure" is almost all about

    1. negotiating
    2. selling
    3. understanding the mechanics of international sales
    4. understanding the difference between international business (and non-business) cultures.
    5. communicating simply and clearly with short simple words

that would sum up the important curriculum.

I never hire anybody without a shitload of sales experience, myself

That is one thing that I have thought about. When I came out of college and went into my career I felt very confident technically with what I knew. I was able to sit down and essentially do my job. However, there was one thing lacking that I didn't have and I notice people coming into the company from school don't have and that is simply "how to do business". They know technicals, but they don't know how to simple conduct relationships, and I am talking internal, not even in a sales position. They don't understand business politics and they often work in a bubble and don't understand the bigger picture.

PB, I left you a question in the Hair Thread. Please advise so I may post in this thread how happy I am about my to-be hair.

    Thanks!

There are useless people that deem themselves "Big Picture." A really successful person has to have ability and understanding in the technicals but not get bogged down in them. He needs to see the big picture but understand how to coordinate the details as the Big Picture gets all fucked up when the tiny cogs don't spin properly.

I don't think anyone would hire someone without references in a job like that.
