I visited a friend's family today and his daughter can finally pronounce my name; albeit the shorter feminine version. I've known her since she was six months old. They lit a candle at the table for brunch and she climbs up to sing happy birthday and blow it out. I reckon it's at least someone's birthday.

Had a pleasant Christmas dinner at a colleague's home. My bread pudding was well received. Also, my colleague loves to research family history, and she discovered some interesting things about my own family history. I had a suspicion about which part of Germany my people came from, and it turns out I was right.

 i imagine the kosher version of bbq is far different than the non kosher version. i would venture ours is rather lame in comparison.

Had an amazing Christmas with my friends. I'm really happy that I managed to make it work, despite the fact that family wasn't around.
