I went to this really old (est. 1920s) barbershop today. Got a nice conservative haircut.

Just a cool guy. Incredibly smart, wise, and a great role model. Always has the perfect advice.
Hard shoes to try to fill.

Anyway, my prospectus is FINIS! And it turned out perfect.

As consolation, you should have no trouble filling his pants!

I had a great day - worked from the coffee shop by my house, and in the evening went with my family for a picnick on the beach, a short walk from my house.

all in all this was a great week - very social, saturday met some SF friends, monday met greg and kwik, tuesday had dinner with a good friend and our wives, wed went out with a bunch of friends. all in all one of the most social weeks I have had in a long time.

Yesterday was the first hot day of the season, so me and the lady spent a couple hours at the nearly vacant beach. The outing helped get my head away from the hectic nature of "real life" stuff.

Yep. Had half the car off the road when I nailed his sliding, riderless bike just as it hit the embankment. Missed him, also sliding, by inches, inches. It was in the middle of a chicane, between two tight corners. I was going slow, having just come out of the first corner, didn't even have an airbag deployment. He was walking moments later, but with some serious road rash. I'm still pretty rattled. I can't get over the difference in feeling between "oh shit, I'm going to hit that car" and the horror of "I'm going to hit that guy."

The police ruled it his fault, presumably because his losing it had nothing to do with me (I don't think he could even have seen me when he lost it since when I first saw him he was already waaaaay too far tipped over). His bike was totaled. I'm a little afraid my car might get totaled also, which is a shame as I just got it, used, and book value won't replace it.

If I had been a second earlier leaving from work I'd have been a few feet earlier and I shudder to think of what the outcome could have been.

And a hundred props to the police, EMS and rescue guys, who were pretty great throughout.

Huntsman, I'm profoundly glad you kept it together and avoided the rider. Hope your car doesn't get totaled

    I got engaged Saturday.

    Congratulations!!!

not to mention having a great phone conversation with one of my best friends

great day today, as well. had a quarterly market reveiw with my CEO, who is very tough to please. to put this in prespective, the domestic sales manager has put maybe 200 million dollars in his pocket, and the CEO has never once told him "good job" or "good work' or "thanks"

at the end of the meeting, the CEO told me "great job, great numbers". which really made my week.
