1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Nice news, ETO.

Wife looks like she's headed back to her old job.

Old job was extremely easy, very little work, really no oversight, and she could handle it working half-days and working from home 50+% of the time, but all promotion roads led out of town. Amazing lifestyle, fantastic benefits, but a dead end. She left it in hopes of taking her career to the next level, which she sort of did in title. But the new job turned out to be little of what was promised and came with tons of stress, longer hours, a miserable commute, and a fairly fucked work/life balance.

A few years on, with a child a few years older, my career more settled, and our own situation a little more settled (we weren't married then, we are now), she is able to focus less on career and more on family and lifestyle, and this is going to make both of us (and our child) infinitely more happy.

Best of all, I think she herself is giddy over this, as opposed to going in with reservations or a sense of defeat. This is a tremendous development for us.

Doug, glad to hear the good news but I am worried. Will this adversely impact Muffy?

Muffy is already screwed. She was just passed over for promotion, in a very public way.

had a great evening with the co-workers. Man, I had no idea what I was missing. The old workplace is looking more and more like North Korea. and I killed it at the driving range. yes - in front of the co-workers.

Recovering from a nasty virus; I'm at almost 100%. Took a sick day anyway, my first day off, weekends included, in two months. Spring is finally here and I'm sitting outside with a chocolate shake underneath cherry blossoms, waiting for a matinée to start.

LOL, no more like Emperor Palpatine. Well, that was Old Mr. Former Boss. Younger Mr. Former Boss is his son, so the transfer of power followed the same lines as NK. And, yeah - those memes of the Great Leader looking at things...was also true for us.
