Yeah that whole post is philled with phail. Literally the sweetest cat I have ever met was a Maine Coon named Albertus Magnus aka Albert. He was huge, and he loved people. You'd pick him up (if you were strong enough) and he'd wrap his paws around your neck and nuzzle you drunkenly. On the other hand, he was a bad ass who once took on a trio of Rhodesian Ridgebacks and won.

Making me happy: I didn't think I was plugged into the commission plan yet, and was startled to find a nice bump on my last paycheck. Between several months of unemployment and my last crappy company this is my first real commission payment in about a year.

    Fuck yeah!

My bad, my mother was looking into getting, a Norwegian forest cat, a couple years back and she kept running in to horror stories about them scratching the home apart etc. for some reason I wanted it to be a maine coon.

    So she dropped it.

    Congrats on the $$$

Albert sounds like our departed Ragdoll, Maximus Giganticus. Twenty two pounds of lean, rangey cat that still thought his was a six month old kitten.

Thanks! Of course, in true SF style I have already spent a good chunk of it on shirts, jeans and hangars.

I would definitely break my no pure-breeds rule for a ragdoll. So awesome.

Lots of truth in this post. Many dog owners do not do their homework to learn about breeds, and identify what will be best suit their needs. Far too often when it becomes clear that the relationship is not a good fit, the end result is disappointment and the dog ending up in a shelter. Also, many breeders are not responsible in their approach, particularly when it comes to breeding for temperament rather than looks.

Same with me. The dog was raised inside with the family which really makes a difference in their development.

the wife and I had a rare weekday off together... took the puppy to the park...

I'm happy that it went from rainy and miserable... to sunny and fucking awesome by the time we got there.

Well, I don't know if it's coming your way too but it's pouring cats and dogs here. Thunder, lightning, wall of thick rain - the whole shebang

They have been very wrong with the weather this week. Who knows what every hour will bring. Hopefully the rain will get some of the humidity out of the air.
