Long night at work, but got tipped 80 bucks. Not bad.

Feeling kinda good because I took a suicidal risk and helped out a stranded motorist on the way home (out of the way road, out of gas, in a town with an ordinance against gas stations, in the rain, at 130am) and that really made me feel good.

Now, venison stew, beer, and a side glass of Glenmorangie, a rare treat of which I'm rather fond.

Other than my early morning saturday class its looking like a wonderful night :)

Risky, but a very good deed. Glad you were able to help, and have a safe outcome. What's with the ordinance against gas stations?

    Thank you.

NJ is weird, because except the major towns/cities its basically a bunch of townships that were stitched together in the early 1900s from random scattered villages. The particular township in question was incorporated when gas stations still had a habit of blowing up, and the temperance movement was in full swing, so per their constitution there's not a single gas station or bar within the township limits, and no-one had bothered to change it since.

^^^That is really weird. Btw, I always hate buying gas in NJ, and try to avoid it, because I can't pump my own gas. The station attendants who I'm forced to have pump it usually are slow getting to my car and are often obnoxious.

NJ state law that gas station attendants must pump your gas. You cannot do it yourself. Kinda nice in the winter months....

This surprised me a few years back when I stopped to get gas in NJ after leaving NY. I proceeded to pump my gas when an attendant came out to chastise and recite the law to me. Since then I've tried to avoid getting gas in NJ though it's not always possible.

Finished this thing. Not much good except as a table runner, but really complicated pattern, kinda visible in the pic in the contrast bands. First time I've done a twill pattern that's double-faced.

Think I'm going to do a scarf with this pattern like it is on the contrast bands, but all the way down.

I'm a few weeks from being ready for a proper black tie event. I have everything except a proper waistcoat either at the tailor or en route.

I highly recommend a kilt and a Prince Charlie with fly plaid. The women will drip off you.

That's why I try to avoid buying gas in NYC. I always try to have a full tank when I leave Pennsylvania so that I can make it through NJ on to NYC and then back to Pennsylvania before the need to fill up again.
