Don't let anyone kid you, Snatchie. Following the kashrut means you are missing out on some of life's greatest pleasures. Meat and cheese were meant to go together. Shellfish are heavenly. Pork is the best land mammal for the dinner table bar none.

Sorry but that's some real talk.

Entirely true, but lobster is still overrated.

I think that lobster is overrated in that a crap ton of badly cooked lobster gets sold at very high prices on a daily basis. Will agree most crab served is better than most lobster served.

I am so glad I am not the only one who feels this way.

Very good point. Crab is considerably more forgiving. I've had lobster at high enough quality that I'd think my lack of love for it would be more a function of my preference than quality, but I have to admit that I would be happy to give it another go should I ever have the chance to try it in a seafood restaurant in a fishing town.

    sadly no. :(

lawlz, most slurpee flavors actually are kosher, i would imagine that one is too, but i havent looked into it.

i hear about blue crabs all day all the time here. it better be as good as its purported to be. alas i will never know.

as for the wire, 5 episodes in i would certainly not call it best ever. its not even near the sopranos imo, but i like it. also its cool that i recognize most of the filming locations.

    lovely, thanks for that. :D

Why wish? It's not a jump-shot for Christ's sake, just go to your local synagogue.

They're pretty outstanding, but I like crab and there's a least a little sentimentality in it for me. I actually have a fair bit of family from around the Chesapeake, both on the Virginia and Maryland sides, so there are more than a few nice childhood memories that involve a big ol' pile of blue crab on a picnic table outside of a little seafood restaurant.

lol. I actually did wind up visiting the local Chabad for a project a while back. If our priests were as cool as their Rebbe, Catholicism would be growing faster than Scientology.

In all seriousness though, the kashrut thing is just a joke because I'm lactose intolerant, don't like pork, and I'm very allergic to shellfish. Jewish friends constantly hint that God is trying to tell me something.

I shall do that. I would hope I'd get to the area at some point in the not-too-distant future. It's been too long since I've been up that way. I always liked it up there, Virginia Beach in particular, and I would love to see it all again.
