1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Leaving for the tattoo shop in a couple of minutes. Not looking forward to the pain, but looking forward to the result.

I'm going to see the "Alice in Wonderland" opera again tonight. I'll be seeing the first three U.S. performances, which would qualify me for some kind of prize if we lived in a just world.

I had to do the same with my aunt and two good friends in 2010.... they arrived in the same week... and wanted to watch phantom of the opera... I had to watch the show separately 3 times that week. :fu:

I tried to steer two of them away to another show (would've been cool seeing three nice broadway shows in a week).... but didn't want to look like a snob - and they all really wanted to see the show badly (bucket list bad i gather).

i have to admit.... phantom may be viewed as lame... but the show is awesome in the way a live coldplay concert is awesome (yeah i said it... coldplay live is awesome).

I'm actually going three times in a row because I love the opera that much. It's not having a long run, so I'm seeing it as often as I can. (I meant the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis should give me a prize for helping to support their more risky, avant-garde productions.)

I've never seen Coldplay live. I guess I can understand why certain types view them with scorn, but they're very good with melody. I'm not ashamed to say I listen to them a little bit. I haven't bought any of their stuff, but I keep it on if it's on the radio. I especially like the one where they borrowed the keyboard melody from Kraftwerk.

^ its good that you're maximizing the opportunity to see something you like.

I used to hate coldplay... my wife (who's a semi-closited hipster) loves coldplay as a guilty pleasure. she'll play it in the car a ton.

I bought her tickets for a show back in 2010 (in saratoga NY of all places) and was skeptical.... but damn they killed it. I was thinking it was a good performance and maybe they were in the zone that night, but apparently they are a very good band live.

I have since softened my stance on coldplay.... I don't listen to them often, but will watch them live.
