I just realized that, for literally years, brokencycle has elected to have as his avatarian representation a horrendously bad album from an embarrassingly trite band.

I don't think it is years plural, but I'll take this as a compliment from you.

I saw RHCP back in 1988 at the University of Utah student union building. The hall was about the size of a regulation basketball court, and the band was playing on risers that were about three feet tall. Once you worked your way up through the mosh pit, you could pretty much reach out and help Flea play his bass if you wanted.

I stopped listening to them years ago but that was a pretty good show.

I'm always pretty bewildered by people's actions at concerts. The music seems tertiary to most of what people are doing. I don't understand wanting to be in a crowed, loud, place getting drunk out of your mind on stupidly expensive drinks. Just go to a club and let the real fans enjoy in peace.

This thread just doesn't pop the same without Harold Falcon. I'm a little worried that he worked himself into such a state about Megan Rapinoe that he suffered a seizure.

The only time I drank at a live show was for the Paul Butterfield Blues Band at Winterland @early 70s. Seemed appropriate. We passed out halfway through the first set. LSD25 remained my drug of choice throughout that period.
edit: Bill Graham never allowed alcohol at any of his shows after the Led Zeppelin /Kezar Stadium show and declined book them ever again after the Oakland Day on the Green.

i eat a lot of protein not by design but it's just what works right now. plus we have a bramble in the backyard so i get a lot of dark berries lol and other fresh fruit from the farmers market.

but i think I've really gone down the rabbit hole i ordered a chicken skin taco and a duck taco from the fancy taco place and they were amazing so now i'm thinking about all kinds of exotic critters to eat
