Yeah...

This has been painfully obvious for me lately with country music. I came up on the stuff in the 90s, and while driving a work truck I recently found a station out of the mountains that plays all that stuff. At some point they had an ad that called it “classic,” which was bad enough, but then I put it on in the car with my kids, and it dawned on me that I was now my mom when she’d listen to the oldies station when I was a kid.

I'd be down with 90s radio more if they only played stuff other than the hits. Yes slts and come as you are are good but love buzz sliver blew etc etc

A lot of people were like "What's she talking about, these are all absolute bangers"

But then people realize that if you were in school around the time many of those songs came out...blasting them on the stereo at a high school today would be like someone coming to pick you up in 2002 while blasting the hottest jams from 1985.

There's been some more 80's nostalgia these days (especially with things like Stranger Things), but nobody in 2002 would have felt cool when someone picked them up blasting St. Elmo's Fire
