I have a Real Salt Lake (soccer) jersey that I bought on a whim at a RSL game I went to with my brother when we were visiting him in SLC. Now I'm scared to wear it anywhere just in case someone thinks I care at all about soccer or that I know anything about it beyond my own soccer career, which ended when I was like 11. I definitely don't want to have a conversation related to it.

insist on referring to soccer as football , that should alienate

There seem to be 3 ways people start to feel old: 1. someone dies, 2. they ache, 3. foods start to mess with them.

This morning, I decided to have a cookie with my coffee instead of my usual breakfast and it wrecked me for a couple hours. Given no one has ever assumed I am intelligent, I had another cookie with lunch and thus restarted this mornings suffering.

The day I started to feel old was walking to a class while in B-school, see two very good looking young things walking my way, and as they passed and I overheard their conversation all I could think is, "God, they are phucking annoying."

During the baseball playoffs, I wore Astros gear to work a few times when they played when everyone else dressed like it was a normal work day. This one person saw me and would talk baseball with me like I was some Astros superfan. Now everytime he sees me he's always like "baseball season is starting up soon!", "season ticket packages are available" or some other Astros baseball talk. I really don't give a **** about baseball unless it's the playoffs and the Astros are playing in it. I hope he quits soon so I don't have to keep on making awkward baseball small talk with him.

This is an easy work around. Ask him to give you a ride in his car, plant some dope and call the cops on him. Then tell everyone else at the office he is always trying to sell it to you, and show you inappropriate pictures of his sister. Yatzee.

I don't want to do that. He's black so the cops might shoot him.

Is that stick he’s holding the one that the Astros used to bang on trash cans?
I'm gonna assume that has something to do with baseball, so not only do I have no idea what you're referring to, I very much don't want to know.

Answer is easy then. Tell him you hate hot sauce and love mayo.

I should also pronounce it as "futbol," but the U should be pronounced like "putt" and the O should be pronounced like "fool." That's how people will know I'm a sophisticated Euro soccer fan, probably.

Get a Rangers shirt to wear to the office a few times before the season starts up. That should shut him up.

I don’t want to buy more baseball sh1t. That’ll really make him think I’m a baseball fan.
