The ex-husband of my wife's best friend died a couple of days ago; not due to his alcoholism or meth addiction, or because another bookie beat him up for his gambling debts, or even from exposure, due to being homeless, but because he was walking along the side of the road and one of Houston's legion of sh1tty drivers hit him.

He was a mess at the end, obviously, but there was a time when he was a pretty good engineer and not a bad person. It's just a depressing, but fully anticipated, close to story that's been playing out for over a decade.
That’s incredibly sad.

I didn't say life for a DUI. But they should not just have their license suspended. People who drive when drunk will often keep driving with a suspended license.

Throw then in jail for a few months(DUI) and then it increases if the get convicted again. After 3(tops), they serve serious time.
well, if you kill a person you should for sure not get your license back.
