Is it though - What’s the argument? That they wouldn’t have made the playoffs? The dodgers had the best record not only in their own division, but in the whole MLB, so arguing they wouldn’t have made the playoffs is asinine.They (LAD and LAL) won, so certainly deserve credit for it, but there are undoubtedly extenuating circumstances. Playing ~30% of a season makes a difference. As we’re seeing this year with the Dodgers, it may well have made no difference at all, but it’s not unreasonable to pick nits over it.
The actual playoffs were harder than normal (more competition) so it’s not that either. The playoff series were the same length. The World Series was at the neutral location, so neither team was advantaged (though dodgers should have had home field advantage)
