Since your colleague most likely already knew they were resigning when they told you this, then I have to believe they were just ******* with you on the way out.

“huh uh let’s tell greedy ass ter that I’ll be feeding him next week. I bet he’ll starve himself in anticipation ?”

She told me/everyone on Wed. Boss said that they had a blow up last night and that is what pushed her over the edge.

Last time I skip my usual breakfast sandwich in the AM.

I made my annual trip to Trader Joes this morning for a bunch of holiday snacks and frozen crap. As much as I enjoy some of the fun things they sell, every time I go in there I am reminded how ridiculous of a store it is. Maybe the ones here are just exceptionally small and have a horrible selection or something but how anybody could do all of their shopping at Trader Joes is beyond me.

In other related news, apparently the local Trader Joes being out of stock of the Hoy Chocolate Melting Snowman is just more evidence of how I am a horrible husband.
Nah Trader Joe's is all about knowing exactly what they carry that is cheaper than anywhere else, and buying the rest of your list elsewhere.

Cereal, milk, beer, toothpaste, some frozen stuff, and then whatever random **** catches my eye, plus a couple of visits to the coffee urn and food samples.

^ truth report ^
I buy my bulk groceries at Costco.
Trader Joes is a place for specifics.
Single serve frozens like the fire chicken.
I also go for the Anniversary Ale, the wasabi mayo, Quinoa pasta, and as an alternate lurking spot to Sephora.

Sometimes I wonder if I have more insecurities than others or if I have too much. I mean. I know everyone is insecure and all I just want to know where i'm at relative to others

I would probably go in there more often if I would remember their frozen stuff as you’re right, they do seem well priced compared to my regular store, even accounting for when I need to buy 2 or 3 packages just to get enough servings for all of us.

I'm all for making good coffee while camping, climbing at the crag, etc...

But nobody brings a scale, a full size glass chemex, a gooseneck kettle, and a piece of reclaimed lumber out into the wilderness.

Also...cups? I don't see any ******* cups?
Wait, is that a manual grinder?

I've got 2 sore arms now after flu/covid booster.

But happy its over.

The chief executive of Moderna has predicted that existing vaccines will be much less effective at tackling Omicron than earlier strains of coronavirus and warned it would take months before pharmaceutical companies could manufacture new variant-specific jabs at scale. Stéphane Bancel said the high number of Omicron mutations on the spike protein, which the virus uses to infect human cells, and the rapid spread of the variant in South Africa suggested that the current crop of vaccines may need to be modified next year. “There is no world, I think, where [the effectiveness] is the same level . . . we had with [the] Delta [variant],” Bancel told the Financial Times in an interview at the company’s headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Primula Brew Buddy FTW if you're wiling to carry the ounces and deal with the mess, otherwise Alpine Start ain't bad for instant.

Also, this is probably some granola boomer equivalent or something, but this picture includes something I see in outdoor marketing all the time that's super irresponsible yet pretty much ubiquitous, and it really irritates me:

Glass.

It's especially prominent in marketing for stuff like fancy coozies, which always show some basic person at the beach with a glass bottle of Bud Light, but I really wish the people who market stuff would just stop showing glass in general. It doesn't belong at the beach, river, lake, crag, campsite, etc.

I’m team mRNA. Vaccines and boosters to the human immune system are only going to get better. I’d get a shot every other week and deal with the sore arm rather than what research suggests viruses do to the human body.

I like my aeropress with metal prismo filter. Mostly self cleaning unlike a percolator, French press, or drip apparatus... Just plunge, remove filter, and pop out the disk of grounds.

The percolator was fun (and served double duty as a water pot), but it is a ***** to clean without running water... And my wife switched to decaf so it's not like I need a big pot of coffee.

These days though...I often just go with Starbucks via instant...
