That was admittedly a horrible read but nothing compares to the first time one reads "Guts" by Chuck Palahniuk (which is a true story IIRC). If I had a time machine, I'd go back to the time before I read it.

Although now I need to buy a new cooler and I'm stuck.

Something like a RTIC (or yeti) 45qt is closer to where I want to be, but I can't bring myself to pay more than double what the Lifetime cost for an equally good but LARGER cooler (and with much better latches IMHO).

I need it to be certified bear-resistant, hard sided, 35-45qt, and with the same level of long-term ice retention.
RTIC has a cheaper (lighter as well) 52qt one

Yes, it's injection rather than roto, but it still has 3 inches of insulation, etc etc.

Rtic is ******* great. I ordered 2 lids from them last Friday morning and had a shipment notification within the hour. Regular shipping and I received them on Sunday. They ship from Houston, so it's only a few hundred miles, but they are great

Wait there are bears in Texas?!? I guess I always assumed it was too hot for y’all…
