Got an IRS notice that they want to audit our 2016 tax return for the second time due to "incomplete information." In the same week, they sent us a $75K refund for 2017 with absolutely no explanation. These were particularly messy years as we were filing in South Africa, France, the UK and the US. Thankfully it was all done by PwC, although apparently not that well?

I thought they only go back 3 years unless they believe you are off by more than 25%?

Good question. I stopped posting here for a while, and when I returned and logged in, the site ran super slow to the point that it took me 10 minutes just to get a page to load. There was no message about being banned once I was finally able to get the site to load. As you can see in CE, I was able to occasionally make a post, but ultimate gave up because it was too time consuming. Having said that, for some unexplained reason this account works great. Maybe there was some sort of cunning attempt to dissuade me from posting without actually banning me, but I find that hard to believe.

When I was a young, nerdy lad in the 80s getting on dial-up BBSs in the Bay Area, there was a guy who went by the username of Cold Chisel. Pretty sure he worked for some IT/tech company and was in his mid 20s but always hit on teenage girls (in woefully short supply on BBSs at the time).
