This is an interesting issue, I can totally see his defense being true (administering vaccine that was going to allowed to spoil and wasted to his friends and family). But, I also see that allowing that sort of thing to happen creates an opportunity for all sorts of shady stuff in light of the widespread shortages of vaccine.

This and there are ethical issues about how medical providers, now in particular, need to be building trust in our public health and vaccine distribution systems.

Agreed, but there should be a proper system for administering vaccines that are about to expire rather than letting them go to waste.
yes but anything a doctor does to undermine trust in the medical system, now in particular, is unethical.

It seems unfair but the goal would be to keep them F***ers from taking up ICU beds/vents from people that haven't ruined their lungs by smoking.

here it's teachers after direct care workers (and then onto elderly etc), almost assured there will be no lockdown in 2021
