I don't remember HS either and I am only 34. When my bother passed away 2 years ago a lot of his high school friends showed up and none of them aged well into their 30s.
Especially true for women. I know a lot of girls from HS who were smoking hot back then but now are terrible looking. Mainly because they gained 40 lbs since HS.

I keep in touch with some folks from high school and sometimes they'll mention people I simply have no recall of. Memories of close friends and big events are still very vivid. As far as females keeping their attractiveness...I find it a mixed bag. Some that were hot are still hot, some look like Jabba the Hut. Some meh lookers are now in the definite "would" category.

A lot of the borderline cute girls did a better job of not gaining 40 lbs and now look great as adult women. They probably had more incentive to not gain weight.

I've also noticed that a lot of the male star athletes gained a **** ton of weight while the nerdier guys are still the same skinny fat.

Yeah, it's easy to add pounds when you used to be highly active and then hit the adult world. If you're lucky you learn to trim the calories.

Well on one hand I feel better that I’m not the only one who doesn’t remember much of HS.

on the other hand it’s been well established that the denizens of this thread are not the collective bar against which you want to be measured, but at this point I have to own that.

btw I am a ****** friend. We were also reminiscing about group science projects that failed spectacularly, and I wondered out loud that I couldn’t remember what my own project was. One guy piped up “well we didn’t have one you ******* asshole because you never completed your part of the work on time. We all took an F!!”.

woops ?

When I’m clean shaven folks routinely underestimate my age by 10+ years, unfortunately I’m still the same unlikable nerd that I was back then.

I can only think of one female high school friend who looks as good or better now than she did then - and she’s had 5 kids. Genetic lottery winner.

Edit: I‘m sure nobody who had been paying attention is surprised to learn the at I have a ****** memory as well.

I’ve never been able to remember names, but I’ve always been good with faces. I think I still am, but they’re harder to put in context than they used to be.

And not drink every ******* day. I know adult life sucks and one of the joys of being an adult is having a couple of drinks after work but every day is a bit much.

Ever know a woman who didn't age well but whose mother did, or vice versa? Probably not. That's why due diligence requires you to find out what a woman's mother looks like when you get serious. That's what you'll be looking at down the road.

I went to FB and a friend from HS died. He apparently was in a coma from a work-related injury for a week. Everyone in Atlanta knew him.

Also, there was a girl in my class who was an Edgy Teenage Punk. All kinds of stupid **** and got expelled (that was the rumor at least) for bringing a lead pipe to school because she was pissed off at someone. Definitely talked about how she was like a Nazi or some bullshit. My graduating class was like 80% Black. But when she did it everyone was like: "*****, please." She also had a weird crush on me for like a semester.

Now I see she's like a super-well-meaning white liberal, actually working for a do-gooder racial justice non-profit. I think her parents are also rich.
