Yeah tolerance is a thing. I can manage 3 bottles of wine, or a bottle of Scotch, in a session easy -- but not much good ever comes of it unless some dumb **** actually needs to add drinking underneath the table. Usually the Euros, in my experience.

Definitely not as alcohol tolerant as i was in my 20's.
Still, on a night out i might have a fresh beer every 30-40 minutes. It's easier to pace yourself when having a conversation with friends.
Miss that on the regular. :confused2:

I don't even want to talk about how the aging disease is robbing me of my consumption prowess. Once I was a force of nature and now I'm just a common mortal.

Once upon a time we would start our day with the 9 ounce challenge. You take a pint glass add 9 ounces of vodka then top off with OJ. You chug it to start your day. Refuel around 2 or 3 that afternoon with another 9 oz challenge. Polish another one off right before 5. It’s a way to get your daily bottle in.

The absolute worst thing about the aging disease is now there are consequences the next day. I can remember when I could go until 2 or 3 in the morning, get up at 6, work 10 hours, rinse and repeat indefinitely. One night last week I had four glasses of wine, two six ounce martinis, and when I rolled out of bed at 6a I was low energy.

I'm not so old I can't smack someone that calls me a Boomer...given I'm Gen X.

I have these zoom calls now with my high school friends that I’ve stayed in touch with for our entire lives. Prior to this call I’ve never really remembered a lot of details about high school and just assumed that’s just because it was a long time ago and people’s brains just normally delete stuff.

these zoom calls made me realize that everyone else remembers HS vividly and it’s just me who doesn’t. The worst was last time when they were all reminiscing about good times with someone who recently died of lymphoma and I could not remember who that was. Like I even viewed pictures and everything and still drew a blank.

I don't remember HS either and I am only 34. When my bother passed away 2 years ago a lot of his high school friends showed up and none of them aged well into their 30s.

In my friend group there is one guy who is the “historian” and remembers everything, other people remember a normal amount of stuff, and I remember practically nothing of HS. I’ve worked out that I have about a 10 year working memory for my personal life, college and law school are mostly gone now as well.
