So obviously, not you...

> Tipsy Dad rant.

@VaderDave
You have sons?

I have one son, who is almost 18. And for about 25 years I was a scoutmaster. So I like to think that I have some experience with the way young men think and behave. I also have a 23yo daughter.

The wife and i aren't doing well, and it is affecting him. I feel sad for him, and make an effort. by doing gardening with him, and focusing on his education and well being. Doing gymnastics now, will not only give him a great start at sports, but also teach him to listen to a coach.
The break down of the love in the home hurts both of us. his mother is simply not here enough. He knows dad is sad. and that sucks.
It's rough. It's one of the great ironies of life that oftentimes the best thing we can do for our relationships with our kids is work on our relationships with their other parent. Kids definitely see and feel how things are going between mom and dad.

As a child of multiple divorces who also got to pay the price for them unfortunately, the above is sage advice. Kids react to tension in the mother/father relationship a lot more then they tend to let on, or even realize themselves.

Most adults in a relationship have disagreements and if you can avoid having them in front of your kids it really is best but what they need to see is the parents laughing and enjoying each others company.

You guys are right.
But as you know, All i can do is my best.
But to lay it all out?

After my son was born, she had post natal depression. ok. can deal.
but i was pushed away. out of the bed.
Then i got depressed.
I slept on a futon for 3 years, things were at breaking point.
I worked in another city, for a while. then came home. got a mattress.
Now it just feels like a job. I wake up alone, i go to sleep alone.
I have been on my own for years now.

I have been a man with no love for 6 years, and never stepped out, even with offers.
Yeah, i get offers.

But now, it's just me and the boy. she is sort of with him in the mornings.
(Cartoon fight shows)

She does not think there is a problem.

There is.

I have gave my all. i'm burnt out, and have a hernia from trying to earn love
of the girl i followed across the ocean. via hard work.

it's bad. I worry more about my son.

I don't want to be making half-baked suggestions based on what I have observed here, simply because a lot of people put on a whole different persona online. But I wish you the very best.

Cohabitation under those conditions is horrible.
Long time ago when I knew my relationship was done, my soon to be ex said, well we can still sleep together?
I laughed and said "you do not get ANY of this penis anymore", and moved into another room of the house until it sold.
With years to reflect, turning down the sex with a beautiful woman seems hasty though...
