Actually, I really like most of NC and would happily retire to somewhere like Carolina Beach or Topsail Island or Surf City.
Went to Morehead City once to catch a boat to dive with the Sand Tigers and on the wreck of U-352. Told the Mrs. "this sounds like my kinda place!" and got an even bigger than usual eyeroll.

Looks like my i3 will be totaled. Adding insult to injury, my claim has never shown up in the insurer’s app, so I had to use their awful website. And, perhaps because they are I. The process of totaling it, I can no longer see the claim on the website, either. Waiting on hold for 20 minutes now to talk to someone…

Sounds like state farm, maybe. If you went with Allstate they would have also cussed you out and denied the claim for the f-ck of it

I got rear ended by a guy with USAA. They treated me better than anyone else I've encountered. I've had State Farm for cars and house since the late 70s so I get good rates from them.

Same. They actually called me and said they’d contact my insurance company and take care of everything. Assured me on the spot that they’d make sure my repairs were paid for promptly and in full to minimize my inconvenience. IIRC i didn’t even have to talk to my own insurance co

My vehicle was a pick up they even made sure I got one as a loaner instead of the cheapest compact available

Ditto...
Kid hit me from behind on PCH, he said "I'm so sorry I was staring at a girl." I told him that would be the best reason for this to happen.
USAA was super easy to deal with.

I’ve had USAA for close to 30 years now for my vehicles and 15 for our house.

The one time I had a significant accident, my car was hit while in a parking spot at an apartment complex. The other guy had AAA and USAA sent their own adjuster to check over the car at the AAA facility and negotiate a settlement for me. The car was a 2007 Mazda 3 (the first car I ever bought brand new) and was only about 8 months old. USAA got me a payout from AAA that was about $3,500 more than what I paid for the car (I got a screaming good deal on the car when I bought it and had only put about 1,500 miles on it by the time it got totaled so that helped out too).
