Was just making small talk at the beginning of a meeting mentioning someone got a news Teams picture as the old one was blurry. I mentioned I should get one too and she said, "yea you are more...fat than when that pic was taken." My wife laughed. My wife's mother stopped by after this conversation and had to ask my wife if she was taking steroids because her "face filled out".

The pic was before I started going to the gym so 4-5 years old...my wife is just a recent gym goer....

Do your people not know how to keep their thoughts inside their heads? My middle schooler knows better than to say something like that.

My gf's mom flew in from China about 2 weeks ago. My gf, her 16 y/o daughter, and I went to go pick her up from the airport. The grandma basically told the 16 y/o daughter in Chinese "you're so skinny and pretty. Your cousin is so fat right now."

I had a 430 wake up today which isn't that bad a deal because I'm a morning person and my alarm usually goes off at 530 anyway. Irregardlessly.
Pull into the gas station at about 515. Two new Dodge Chargers pull in. Clearly together. They slowly go behind the pumps. Then one of them purposefully taps the other, cracking the rear fender. They then both just pull off. One had a dealer's tag still on it but can't remember which.

Anyone know what may have been happening?

Sad, but ultimately uplifting, story. I do not think I would willingly fly in an Osprey.

I read that story in the Detroit paper earlier today and it brought a tear to my eye (full disclosure: I also cry at life insurance commercials and the baptisms of random kids I do not know at church) but I did have to laugh at the end of the story when the deceased Marine's best friend met his sister just before his funeral and ended up marrying her. Classic USMC ending.

Given the safety record, I am amazed that they transport the president in them.
I don't think they do. I don't think they are equipped for the Executive Airlift mission. I believe that Marine Helicopter Squadron One has an Osprey, but they do not use it to transport the President. Is there any historical instance of a President flying on a V-22?

This is correct. HMX-1 uses a couple different Sikorsky helos as Marine One.

HMX-1 has two different missions. The "Whiteside", which is the Executive Flight Detachment, handles transport of the president and other VIPs in the Sikorsky helos and the "Greenside" is where the "X" in HMX-1 comes from and handles experimental testing and evaluation out of Quantico, including testing of the V-22 Osprey.

It's always a little frustrating to see the V-22 killing someone and remembering that it only exists because Congress decided to override the Pentagon, which rightly determined it's a deathtrap.
