I try not to be that old guy who is reflexively like everything sucks now. But breakdancing as an Olympic "sport" is objectively fvcking stupid.

Eh. It looks like a tone-one-tone silk brocade, that's reasonably fancy. That's a very plain kurta for a wedding. I went to an Indian wedding as a guest and both the ones I got are way fancier than that.

How did this response end up in this thread 🤨Eh. It looks like a tone-one-tone silk brocade, that's reasonably fancy.
Mine was very plain and simple in undyed raw silk. Not fancy but super comfy.
I have lots of thoughts about what should and shouldn't be an Olympic sport and breaking doesn't qualify. That said, it's way more fun and entertaining than I expected. I'd rather watch it than baseball or golf.I try not to be that old guy who is reflexively like everything sucks now. But breakdancing as an Olympic "sport" is objectively fvcking stupid.
saw them a couple years back, but it wasn't the OG band. still good thoughPlanned to see Blink 182 in St. Louis this weekend but the show got cancelled. In-laws said they would still watch the kids Saturday night but most of our favorite restaurants are already booked on Saturday.

I just saw the Australian breakdancer highlights… was pretty embarrassing but at least she got to go to ParisI try not to be that old guy who is reflexively like everything sucks now. But breakdancing as an Olympic "sport" is objectively fvcking stupid.
You just transported me back in time some 25 years. We were at the bustling Border Cafe in Harvard Square sometime in late 90's. For reference, in those olden times it was customary to drink at lunch and $20 bills came out of the ATM pre-rolled for coc@ine use. After a night out, my group wandered into a Denny's around 1am.
As we sat there, a lightening strike knocked out power to the whole building
But.....we had just got our food, and then they lit candles, so I think I posted this in the wrong thread.
Nah you were never smart enough to be admitted to Cambridge or Harvard. You just transported me back in time some 25 years. We were at the bustling Border Cafe in Harvard Square sometime in late 90's. Our table had consumed dozens of margaritas and when it came time to pay, the power goes out and we sat in the dark for another 20 minutes. Eventually the manager tells us all to leave because they can't process credit cards or fix the power issue.
Due to my advanced age, my recollection may not be perfect but I'm fairly certain most of that actually happened.
I haven't watched any but I was immediately annoyed hearing Mike Tirico refer to the athletes as B Girl Ami and B Girl Nicka. Total cringe.I try not to be that old guy who is reflexively like everything sucks now. But breakdancing as an Olympic "sport" is objectively fvcking stupid.
No sport gets into the Olympics unless there is major participation on multiple continents. Sports with small numbers simply do not get into the Oympics.I'm happy that all these random people in these sports that have like 50 people worldwide
Maybe we have different definitions of "major" participation, but I have a hard time believing that synchronized swimming has a lot of participants worldwide. There are a few others (like bobsled and curling) that just aren't that accessible to people worldwide. Herschel Walker did almost no training for his run in the Olympics (I read he did 30 practice runs) and finished in 7th place less than a second behind the gold medal. No sport gets into the Olympics unless there is major participation on multiple continents.
