Not too sure what's going on. I woke up just fine and was walking around without any issues. I drove to work and sitting in my office working. Throughout the morning my ankle starts stiffening up and swelling. It's now so bad that I can't walk anymore. I'm having to get my brother to uber to pick up my car and drive me home. First time this has ever happened to me.
You have gout. Very few things have that kind of dramatic onset without any acute trauma.

Public financing of sports stadiums is insane.
It's a massive financial loss, which is why no team is ever willing to pay for one privately. And I have no doubt that despite knowing it's a massive loss that will kneecap the city and county finances for a decade or more, we will end up paying for this.

I saw something interesting recently - the percentage of a stadium being paid for by taxpayers has gone down. The wave in the 70s-early 90s was almost 100% tax payer funded allegedly.

However the absolute dollars of subsidy has gone way up because stadiums have become an order of magnitude more expensive

The argument they help the economy is laughable. Even if you assume all the consumer spending is net incremental (it isn't because people pay for that rather than something else at some level), they are massive economic black holes. A baseball stadium gets used maybe 100 days per year. Football is 8-10. Hockey and basketball are in the 40 day range.

Otherwise they sit and take up prime real estate in a city or are just in the middle of nowhere in the suburbs.

Unfortunately, this is going to play on the city's massive inferiority complex- we can't let the only major pro sports franchise move to Austin and prove that we're just a second rate small town.

You still have UTSA football, so all hope is not lost until after the season starts.

San Antonio has a solid claim on being the birthplace of the breakfast taco. The overwhelming majority of cities have contributed much less to human happiness.

I think so too but weird thing is that I don’t have any of the typical causes of gout like being overweight, drink alcohol, or eating lots of red meat. I drink a bunch of water, exercise regularly, and eat really healthy with lots of fruits, veggies, and white meat.

Does anyone in your family have gout?

If you look at the things that contribute to a higher uric acid and cut those out, you'd be relegated to eating ice cubes and celery sticks.

Especially if the team is already there - you aren't getting additional economic activity by keeping them

I don't understand the batch variation in 'extra toasty' cheezits. I've had some boxes that are bonkers good, and others that are lacking in salt, or just look like normal cheezits with a slight tan. I want that **** crispy.
