The status quo is just about always the easiest path for management...even when it's leading to ruin. Right up to that final, one bad day, it's all good.
(I would not be surprised if) toxic people are the most likely to sue.
Apparently no one here is a bottom performer even though the bell curve says someone here should be ****.
haaaave you met ed?

I just lost a bidding war for an artwork in an Artsy charity auction. The piece had exceeded its estimate and I just couldn't pull the trigger. Oh well, you have to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em.

link the listing? love auctions
This is the piece. The auction was going on for several weeks, but the first bid didn't get placed until a few hours ago. We went back and forth until the auction ended. I had a feeling that my competition wasn't about to go down without a fight and the piece was going to get prohibitively expensive. So I bowed out. Maybe I'll regret it in a few weeks. But the thing about art is that even if you miss out on something great, there's always something great right around the corner.

We need @heismatt to critique this.

(I dig it. Shame you couldn’t afford it)

I saw an art that I liked, but the gallery was closed which is probably good for my wallet. It was a painting of a barn. I have no specific interest in the subject matter, I just really liked the style. Maybe I should call the gallery and ask, how much is that painting of a barn in the window?

Wife saw a vase she liked which was affordable enough to a pleb like me that I'm buying it for a gift.

The best part about artsy is they have a category for me: <$5000. The worst part is that 99% of it is still above my budget.

the upside here is spending somebody else's money towards a good cause

You know I’m already a little depressed and then I see this and it makes me a little more sad.
He wasn’t Vin Scully but he was still damn good (even with a **** team for so many years)
