1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

It doesn't matter if it didn't happen last time. Your system is not used to the water/food/spices/etc over there. Really very simple.

How is it simple if I've been here before and didn't get sick? I wasn't used to it last time either.

It really doesn't matter how many times you have been there.
Your GF lives there. She eats that stuff daily. She is used to the water/spices/etc.

Just because you didn't get sick before doesn't mean that you can't/won't get sick during each of your followup visits. Your body takes time to adjust to food/etc from far "3rd World countries." You could visit every 6 months and never get sick. You could also visit every 3 months and get sick every time.

This is very simple. I can't even comprehend that you are saying that you can't understand because you didn't get sick last time.

of course you don't. It seems nonsensical to me to only have pathogens affect you sometimes. It's not like they are any different this time around than they were last time. How is that logic hard for you?

What I am saying is that during this trip(compared to your last), did you:
-eat from the exact same places.
-with the exact same water sources
-served by the exact same people
-using the exact same spices/fish sauce/etc.
    -using the same utensils
    -etc.

if you didn't, how can you claim that the pathogens are not different this time vs last time? The water source can have an affect on the pathogens that you ingested. The food stall. How clean the servers hands are. How clean the cooks hands are. Etc.

The fact that you didn't get sick during your previous trip has no bearing.

I don't get the reaction. Like, with all the good chocolate in the US people are upset about not being able to get a few candy bars?

Cadbury has only themselves to blame. As I understand it they signed the deal with Hershey giving Hershey exclusive rights to market and sell in the US. This wasn't Hershey forcing them through some evil method to stop selling, Cadbury willingly sold out. Fuck them.

It's time to relegate meteorology to the dustbin of pseudoscience, along with phlogiston theory and phrenology.

One of my banks is making me set up a new way to login.

First I have to create a password that follows stupid rules (like limiting the types of special characters that can be entered while also requiring them to be present).

Then they want me to come up with five security questions...each of which are chosen from a very short drop down list of options (the list is different for each question #)

I seriously don't know the answer to most of them.
I don't know what any of my grandparents middle names are. (yet they try every combination of maternal/paternal, grandma/grandpa).
I don't know the name of the hospital where I was born.
I 100% guarantee that if I answer "What is your favorite vacation spot" now, that I won't be able to remember what I chose in 3 years when I forget the password.
Ditto for stupid questions like "What are you saving for?", "What is your savings goal amount", "Who was your best bud in high school?"

god damn, who picks these things?

"What was your first job?" --how the fuck am I supposed to know how I answered that ambiguous shit in a year? Was it my first employer? Was it the kind of work I did? The job title?
